In response to the pressing challenges faced by Carissa Primary School in eMalahleni -overcrowding, infrastructure deficits, and financial constraints-the Trust launched a significant project aimed at improving the school’s learning environment. Although the school was designed to accommodate 560 learners, it currently serves 751 students, severely impacting the quality of education. To address this issue, the Trust procured four mobile classrooms, providing space for an additional 160 learners and to help alleviate overcrowding.
On April 19, 2024, the Trust successfully handed over four prefabricated classrooms, two prefabricated offices, and one staff room to Carissa Primary School. This donation was a major step toward enhancing the school’s infrastructure and overall educational experience.
In addition to the classrooms, the Trust also approved and provided 160 desks and 160 chairs in October 2023. This ensured that the new classrooms would be fully equipped and ready for use, preventing any disruption to the
learning experience due to a lack of furniture.
